Central and conveniently situated - A road and rail hub in the south of Baden-Württemberg
The Black Forest-Baar-Heuberg region has a strong and impressively dynamic economy with a high standard of living and leisure opportunities. The region is so convinced of its advantages that calls itself the "Region of Winners".
The economic structure consists of an impressively balanced mix of industries. Medical technology, micro systems technology, automotive suppliers, manufacturers of turned components, mechanical engineering and precision engineering form the basis of the manufacturing economy.

The A81 motorway (Stuttgart-Singen) runs through the center of the region and, as an important European transport corridor, plays a central role in connecting Germany, Switzerland and Italy. The well developed federal trunk roads create other international links.
In particular, the B31, B311, B33 and B462 main roads running from west to east connect the region to the Alsace area, Stuttgart and the Lake Constance region via the Black Forest. The B14 and B27 represent another important North-South traffic route.
