A region of logistics specialists in a convenient location
The Central Upper Rhine region/Karlsruhe technology region has an excellent location for logistics between France and Germany and has a very good transport infrastructure. Karlsruhe is easily accessible from every direction via the A5 (with connections to the A6 and A81), A8 and A65 motorways.
Karlsruhe is an important rail transport hub (ICE/TGV connection). The rail loading station operated by DUSS connects the road and rail networks. The region is directly connected to the most important waterway of Europe, the River Rhine. With Rheinhäfen GmbH, the region also offers trimodal logistics options. The region has an efficient regional airport, the Baden-Airpark, and a number of major airports (Frankfurt/Main, Stuttgart, Strasbourg, Basle) are easily accessible from the region.
The University of Karlsruhe (one of the "universities of excellence") and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) form the core of an
attractive and internationally renowned network of universities and research institutes.
